This was a fun project. I would recommend it to anyone who likes this kind of thing. You can buy a Theremax kit from paia electronics, click on the Theremax link above. The photo above shows the Theremax mounted in the lectern case you can get with the kit. I put mine in a blue make up case from Kmart with some blue l.e.d. lights. The other two photos show Leon Theremin who invented the theremin in 1927 and Clara Rockmore (1919-1998) who mastered the Theremin and preformed many concerts in the 1930s through the 1950s. Although Clara considered the Theremin a "serious classical instrument" it was popularized as a sound effect by Hollywood in films such as "The day The Earth Stood Still". You also may have heard the Theremin used in recordings by The Beach Boys, Led Zeppelin and Tesla.
